How to Take Care of Your Eyelash Extensions
Tips for Taking Care of Your Eyelash Extensions So They Last!

Eyelash extensions have quickly become an essential for women who appreciate a quick, get up and go look. But lash extensions can also complement a full coverage makeup look. Eyelash extensions effortlessly give your natural lashes a gorgeous lift. Once you've gotten your lash session completed, it's very important for you to take care of your eyelash extensions to promote longevity.
There are three main reasons you would want to look after them properly:
- Your lash health. If you don't regularly take care of your lashes, it can compromise your natural lash health and slow down the growth of new lashes. Your lids can become itchy from the buildup of dead skin if they are not cleaned regularly.
- They will look better for longer. Eyelash extensions that have been coated in mascara, oily makeup and strip lashes don’t look that great.
- Refill cost and financial/time factors. If you look after your lashes and retain them well, you won’t need to come in as frequently or for extended refill appointments, which will save you money. Our refills are charged based on the amount of lashes that we have to replace each time.
With proper care, your eyelash extensions can last about three weeks before it's time for a refill. Of course, it depends on many factors. However, you can keep your lashes looking full and fluffy for as long as possible if you take care of them.
Here's a few steps that we recommend to take care of your eyelash extensions:
List of Services
-
Do NOT wear mascara or curl your lashesList Item 1
Do not use waterproof or oil based mascara or eyeliner (felt tip/pen-style liquid liner is usually fine). Do not use any mascara or curl your lashes if you can help it.
-
Brush your lashes daily with spoolieList Item 2
Use the spoolie given at your appointment to brush at least 2x a day. Clean them properly, at least a few times a week with a foaming lash cleanser.
-
Sleep on a silk pillowList Item 3
Sleep on your back to protect your lashes, but if not possible - sleep on a silk/satin pillow.
-
Do NOT use oil-based productsList Item 4
Do not use cleansing oils, coconut oil etc. on your face if you want the lashes to last
-
Do NOT get your lashes wet for 24hrs
Keep them as dry as possible for at least 24-36 hours. After the 24 hour mark, they are technically waterproof, however, if you are swimming daily, they probably won’t last quite as long as if you didn’t, more from rubbing them when water gets in your eyes.
-
Do NOT tug on your lashes
Do not play with or pick at your lashes, rub your eyes roughly. If you are a picker, it can really damage your natural lashes.
-
Schedule a refill within 2-3 weeks
Timing depends on factors such as:
- How you treat them
- Your lash cycle and how fast you are shedding/growing lashes
